~ Wigs With A Touch Of Elegance ~
Washing your human hair wig with HARD WATER, will cause damage to the hair.
Hard water contains minerals like calcium and magnesium that can build up on the hair fibers, making them dry, brittle, and more prone to tangling. The minerals in hard water can also affect the color and texture of the wig, causing it to look dull and lifeless.
If there is no other option, to minimize the effects of hard water on your human hair wig, you can use a water softener or a clarifying shampoo to remove mineral buildup.
It's also a good idea to rinse your wig with distilled or filtered water after washing to help prevent mineral buildup and keep your wig looking its best.
Using Hard Water will also damage your Synthetic hair systems.
To keep your new Human Hair wig or topper in best condition, please use products designed for Alternative Human Hair.
Before washing your human hair wig or hairpiece, gently remove any tangles using your wide tooth comb
• Gently lather the hair with a small amount of Argan Smooth Luxury Shampoo, while making sure that the hair is traveling in the same direction. DO NOT rub hair as this may cause tangling
• Rinse thoroughly in cool running water until the water runs clear
• Apply Argan Smooth Luxury Conditioner, avoiding the base of the wig or hairpiece (applying conditioner to the base/cap may weaken the knots)
• Using your fingers, work conditioner through mid-lengths and ends for 3-5 minutes
• Rinse thoroughly in cool running water until the water runs clear
Wrap wig or hairpiece in a towel and gently pat to remove excess water
• Gently remove any tangles using your wide tooth comb
• Allow cap to dry completely before applying to a canvas block head
• Dampen hair again and apply a small amount of Blown Away Blow Dry Balm; distribute evenly throughout hair, keeping away from base
• Starting at nape, work in 2" sections using Round Boar-Bristle brush and blow dry each section completely
• Use medium-high heat on full power to blow dry hair. Use the "cool shot" button to lock in style
• Human hair must be dried and styled after washing. Air-drying can leave the hair ‘un-polished’ and can trap water in the hair making it look frizzy. However, using oils as a leave-in conditioner, can make the hair smoother
Blown Away Blow Dry Balm is designed as a foundation product for all human hair blow outs. All other styling products can be layered over Blown Away
Boho Beach Mist can be used on dry hair to add texture and revitalize natural curls
Use professional grade heat styling tools with digital temperature settings to control heat.
Use no higher than 350° F to help maintain the integrity of the hair
Use Versatile 3-Way Hair Spray to hold your finished style. Adjust nozzle to “L” for low, “M” for medium, or “H” for high hold, depending on your needs
*Tangling/matting that occurs after one month of wear is due to improper care!
Using a wide tooth comb, comb through the wig or topper while dry to remove any tangles.
Start from the tips and then comb step by step further upwards, until all tangles are removed.
Important! Do not use combs or brushes with sharp points!
Add two generous squirts (2 tablespoons) of shampoo to a wash basin or bowl with lukewarm water and mix. Hold the cap with a flat hand so that the wig falls into its hairstyle. Draw the wig through the water, gently cleanse the hair but never pull on the lace front part. Do not scrub or rub! Finally, rinse the wig. Repeat the process if there is heavy soiling
Alternatively:
Using a flat hand, hold the cap. Allow flowing, lukewarm water to flow from top to bottom through the wig and hair. Apply SHAMPOO using your free hand to the top of the head and smooth through to the tips or comb through using the Wide tooth comb.
Apply Conditioner keeping some distance from the cap (1 inch) and smooth into the tips. Then comb in the balm from roots to tips using a comb. Leave for 5 minutes or for 10 minutes, if needed. Finally, rinse the wig. Place the wig in a towel and carefully pat it dry.
Spray or apply Leave-in Conditioner for additional care and softness and to make it easier to comb. Conditioner remains in hair.
DRYING Either in your hand or on a polystyrene/postiche head or wig stand, carefully brush or comb through the hair, starting from tips Then continue to comb the hair step by step upwards.
Ideally allow the towel dried wig to air-dry on the WIG STAND or on a polystyrene/ postiche head.
You may blow dry it on medium heat.
If desired, the hair can be straightened using a straightening iron or styled to your liking using curling tongs, only when dry and up to a maximum of 180°C. Please do not apply any heat protection!
If desired, the Human Hair blend can be treated using a straightening iron to smooth the surface of the hair. This must only be carried out when the hair is dry.
UNTANGLING
It is perfectly normal for the hair to become tangled around the neck. This happens with your own hair as well when it rubs on your collar or from heat and movement.
Carefully loosen the tangles using your fingers, then comb and work with straightening irons (160-180°C) so that the surface of the hair becomes smooth again. To counteract tangling, regularly brush/comb neck hair.
■ Apply nourishing products into the hair, but never to the cap, as the knots could become loose
■ Wash as often as necessary, or as seldom as possible 😊
■ Brush carefully, regular combing prevents tangles
■ Never touch the hair directly at the lace front (Super-Front)
■ Store gently in the box Should or a wig stand when not in use
Giving your Human Hair wig the needed care and maintenance is important in ensuring that your wig will stay looking healthy for a long time.
When you are not wearing your human hair wig, make sure you store it properly, away from dust and direct sun.
How to Restore Moisture
Although, Human Hair wigs have the most natural look, remember, that your alternative human hair wig is not able to get the natural oil or sebum from the scalp as your natural hair does.
Therefore, to keep the hair tangle and frizz free, they must be kept hydrated and nourished.
If you are wearing your human hair wig daily, it is important, to keep the hair moist and in good condition. Leave-in conditioners and hair oils are important to keep the alternative hair hydrated.
Deep conditioning is also important part of keeping the hair hydrated. Also make sure to use heat protectant when using hot tools to style it.
Best practice is not to sleep with your wig on and mainly not when it is still wet as the hair can get frizzy and tangled from the friction between your wig and the pillowcase.
Using Heat On Your Alternative Hair
Limit the use of hair dryers, hot rollers, flat irons, curling irons. Heat will dry out the hair strands and can cause tangling, frizz, and even breakage. When you must use heat, always apply a heat protectant first.
Reasons For Tangling
Using regular shampoo and conditioner on a wig rather than shampoo for alternative wig, could be the cause of hair tangling.
Our scalps produce natural oils that keep our hair moisturized. Those oils protect and moisturize our hair, so human hair shampoos and conditioners don’t need to be formulated with those oils.
Wigs, on the other hand, don’t naturally moisturize themselves. That’s why you need to use products specifically designed for alternative human hair that restore moisture.
More information on best oils to use on your new human hair wig or topper can be found under the "All About Human Hair" tab.
Besides the use of the highly effective BELLE MADAME care products, the proper use and care procedures are of immense importance.
The BELLE MADAME care instructions provide an important support in proper care procedures of the alternative hair style.
